• Bunq.me zonder reclame

Ik zie opeens op de bunq.me pagina reclame van bunq.
Dat vind ik niet zo netjes op mijn betaalde zakelijke pagina..
En dan ook nog groter dan het betaalvenster.
Dit mag echt weg van mij.
Groet, Hein

@brainy-nl#150237 You're absolutely right. Just saw it on my private bunq.me page as well. This is really annoying.

After all, I'm paying money for bunq's product. Money which it is totally worth, but which also should suffice for keeping my experience ad-free. the recent Green Card ads in the app and through e-mail have already been sufficiently annoying. I'm more and more getting the impression that bunq is increasingly desperate to make money. Quite sad...

Fijn om te horen dat ik er niet alleen zo over denk.
      Bank of the free,
      Maar niet free van reclame.

I agree on this. It's annoying. I get that bunq wants to increase its user base, and paying non-bunqers will see this. But I would prefer control over MY bunq.me. It's not called bunq.bunq ;)

And yes, the e-mails of the green card are becoming too often. Especially since I already have one and am premium... cmon...

@brainy-nl#150237 The bunq.me “ad” is not visible anymore when you set your own background image via “Personalize Page”

How do you add a background? If I try this in the app I always encounter an error, saying that uploading a customized background is unavailable. Tried this on 2 androids on 2 bunq.me links, and wife gets the same errors in her account.

@Arne-Navy-Dolphin#150254 can you try uploading a different file type? Not all types are accepted and from what I recall the error is not always clear there. So try jpg or png or another format and see whether one of those works. If none work then I'd suggest to contact Support 💬.

@Sander#150303 Yep, tried that. JPG, PNG, BMP, GIF, not working. Off to support.

@brainy-nl#150237 I kind of thought people just were exaggerating here. But now that you mentioned it I peaked at my own bunq.me page... and boy ow boy.. the ad is huge! 😮

I don’t mind if bunq wants to promote the cool 😎 feature, but this is a bit too much guys! Tune it down a bit. I can even see it whiteout glasses 🤓 😉.

If I had a free membership, I would completely understand... but I have a paid membership.

@JohnDo#150317 Well at least it scores 5 stars for accessibility, hehe. That thing is gigantic oO

Thanks for the tip, didn’t even know it shows a huge ad as I don’t visit my own bunqme. (And not a lot of people seem to use it, so don’t get requests either.) Used the work-around. Let’s hope bunq doesn’t add it to pages with a custom background :)

I got a reply from support, changing backgrounds is only available on accounts that are 2+ months old.

Hmm, it even uses my first name in the commercial! I find that pretty devious (this got Facebook into trouble years ago!). I mean I use bunq but I certainly don't feel like endorsing it to anyone that I share my bunq.me page with. A small link at the bottom, I'd find that ok, but this, with my name so big?! No. It seems like bunq is just like any other company, looking for the boundaries already. I really don't like this, it's my most expensive app/subscription! The commercial is even on sites that I created originally without any commercial on it. They changed my sites without me knowing it. Guess it wasn't my site after all. Ugh, I really really don't like this. Recently all those pushes for the green card (as notifications no less)! And now this... Is bunq under some kind of financial strain? Hope these are not the last twitches of a dying company.

                                  I agree!

Noticed it today on a business account. But after some testing it seems the ad gets removed once you select a background image.

@brainy-nl#150237 De marketing is sowieso wat agressief geworden. Krijg ook wekelijks mailtjes die toch wel wat clickbaiterig aanvoelen. Hoop dat er wat verandering in gaat komen!

@JohnDo#150317 but the person paying you won't have a membership most likely, they need to see the ad 😂😂
