Same goes for online orders where you send (part) of it back and then get (partially) refunded.
I think being able to link payments together would be very valuable.
That way it becomes easy to keep track of whether you got refunded by the seller (or payed back by friends).
I would suggest that the original payment is some sort of ‘main payment’ and the (potentially multiple) partial refunds can be assigned to it so you can see both the actual amount of money that was taken from your account, as well as the net amount it cost you after taking the refunds into account.
