As a fully switched ABN to bunq student I found that they didn’t really connect to me as a customer.

The feeling of being a product got me to thinking about the way these guys operate. Luring you with a free lunch to later seduce you to loans, mortgage, etc. to get you to stay for the long term instead of actually doing stuff I’d could improve my spending with. I’m personally not in those kind of thing and prefer to choose what fits me the most, which isn’t aiming to build a incidental debt. I do this not only in banking, but also a lot of other things. Basically the question of what is your best fit.

Having a lot of options at a single bank agains having a spread payment service spectrum which i had previously made me switch. Why do i need al these providers, logins, different interfaces and options? Why should i think about the way i pay for stuff? Why should i wait for my money? Why do i only get commercially targeted communication from my bank?

Due to the global acceptance of MasterCard i did eventually switch fully, since this made my payment solutions go to one accepted solution. The app suited my needs and was using the requests on a frequent basis for example.

Besides ease of use I value the way customers are treated. I always use Coolblue as a way I’d like to be treated, like a human with a funny twist. Is some way bunq fits this bill. Serious where needed, but humane when possible.

It all boils down to the complete picture. Nobody should force you to use bunq I think, you’re the one that should be making the choices.
