bunq is listening to their customers they say. Almost everything we are experiencing as customers is nothing but being ignored. The personal feelings is completely gone. As a customer you’re just a number for bunq… ☹️

I only coincidentally found out someone paid my payment link using CC and I was charged for it. This makes the feature useless, because you cannot control how the recipient will pay, and I don't want extra costs. Back to "Tikkie". But honestly these kind of features (already standard with all other banks without fees, only iDeal) are/were part of the reasons for paying a premium for Bunq.
Hi, has this been fixed? I just created a bunq.me link and did a test using my Bunq credit card (so it's basically a Bunq to Bunq transaction) and I was not charged any fees. Paid €10, received €10.
Just want to be sure if I start using the link I'm not running in to any surpises later on...
@Thomas-Purple-Kiwi#245759 The 2.5% card fees will be charged to you together with your monthly fees. They should already be visible on your next invoice that you can preview by going to the Profile tab > Settings > My plan > Upcoming invoice. Even if you use a bunq card, this is not a direct bunq-to-bunq payment, as the money will traverse Mastercard's payment network. Therefore, the 2.5% fee is not waived in that case. Only actual bunq-to-bunq payments, iDEAL payments, Bancontact payments and Sofort payments will not incur any fees.
Yes, the 2,5% is there, that's a pity.
It's a very cool feature because of the possibility to include amount and description in the URL (bunq.me/bunq/18/Dinner) but I can't afford to lose 2,5% in case of larger transactions unfortunately.
I would love to use it when it can be iDeal only (or for a small fixed amount instead of percentage). Till then, I'll switch to another provider for my payment links.
Thanks!
I have now stopped using bunq.me links and resumed the use of Tikkie. 2.5% risk is not something I want to take.
First time I encoutered this, using a bunq.me link. I had no idea it was an option to choose different payment methods. VERY ANNOYING, since I can not easily pay back now.
BUNQ please enable choosing which payment methods to allow
I think the proposed solution, removing payment methods, doesn't make much sense. Making others give you their money should be made as easy to them as possible. You shouldn't have to care how they pay you.
What the real issue is, is that some payment methods come with a fee which is passed on to you.
A better solution to that problem, would be the option to specify who will absorb that fee when creating the link. Payer, you or shared. Just like with fees for international bank transfers.
If you choose that whoever pays you will have to absorb it, they can then decide whether they'll still use their creditcard, and pay a bit more, or choose an alternative method if they can.
@vanMeerdervoort#296152 Deze wens speelt al jaren. Wat is de status van dit voorstel? Verworpen? Op backlog? Sprint? Retro? Een update zou fijn zijn.
Wow it has been 5 years already since we requested to be able to control who pays the fee or the option to disable card payments per bunq.me link
Hi folks 👋
Thank you all for all your input, which is very valuable to us. As this is a long discussion with some history, the suggestion is kind of outdated as well.
Just want to clarify a few points:
Thank you again for the massive support and ideas, please don't hesitate to share more on our community as it helps us grow in the direction you prefer 🌈
I can't imagine anyone has a principal objection to being paid by credit card, it's only about the associated costs.
So it doesn't make much sense to treat both as separate issues, that's just a waste of development effort. If your teams are bored I can provide some suggestions ;-)
You should implement only one of the two, and in my view the second one makes a lot more sense. (I assume by shareable fees you meant my suggestion where you get to choose who absorbs the cost).
You could also only implement the first one, but then only Dutch (ideal) / Belgian (Bancontact) users can pay. To be paid by people from other countries (including countries you operate in) you'd have to expose yourself to the issue raised here. I foresee another feature request incoming.
