• Dual PIN

I love this feature! This saves me the hassle of transferring money between accounts afterwards, because i forgot to change the linked account in time before it was my turn at the cashier or because there is very poor wifi in our local supermarket. All I have to do now is use a different pin code when buying groceries. Clever and very useful :-)

Yeah it would be nice if more then two pin codes / accounts can be used with one card. For example if you use Bunq private and business wise.

Don't use this myself, but I find it truly useful. Even if you don't want to use two accounts.

Imagine: you have one regular account and one bogus account with 10 euro on it. You assign a pin to this second bogus account. In case you ever get forced (robbed) to hand over your card and pin, you give the second pin and the bad guys are only able to withdraw 10 euro from your account....

I haven't been able to use the secondary PIN in any machine in France 😢 but I never tried in the Netherlands, which is where I live. Anything I'm missing?

In France it could be that you are encountering offline terminals, where the dual PIN won't work since it requires a live connection to bunq to recognise and apply the dual PIN functionality.

@jon#27978 I see! Thought I could be doing something wrong! It's interesting because I thought the PIN was always an offline validation 🤔

Either way, thanks! Will try that in the NL and see how it goes!

@mtzaquia#28009 You might think so indeed, but in fact the primary PIN is stored on the card's chip (and can be updated when it is used in ATM's or terminals).

Yet an other item on the support page of ‘using bunq cards abroad’

Note that I didn’t mean to say every payment in France would involve offline terminals, just that you may encounter them.
