ABN AMRO introduces NFC wearables like rings to make wireless payments. Well BUNQ, you are running behind!!!
When is BUNQ going to introduce this?

Pay with wearables like a ring
Jeroen 🏳️🌈Wizard
@Thomas-Green-Shark#55796 An article behind a (pay?)wall is not very useful, I'd say. There are already a lot of topics from other people that want more NFC functionality. I think it would be easier to measure the interest if there was one big topic instead of all the small ones.

@Thomas-Green-Shark#55796 I don’t think wearables like a ring is the payment future. I also think a watch (also smart watch) is not the future but the past.. We don’t want to wear something technical anymore like we did in the past. It just feels so 90s.

@Thomas-Green-Shark#55796 Well, personally I'm mostly not a fan of this kind of wearable implementations. Mainly because they require some form of extra authentications above a certain (low) amount making the user experience less. The only good example I know.. it Apple Pay on an Apple Watch.

Or with an Apple... https://youtu.be/qAHpjhNwlD4?t=14 (Dutch Video)

The article from de Volkskrant (12th January 2019), in Dutch...

As far as these implementations of pay wearables go, I'm not in. They lack a certain security feature to check if they are still with their owner or the owner is aware of a payment. ApplePay has these features, so I'm fine with using ApplePay on my phone and watch.

They might seem fun at first, but when you start thinking about the day to day implications (security, charging, usability, waterproofness, wear&tear etc) most of these gadgets loose their shine. From the top of my head this ring costs around €99. Why would you buy it when smartphones and smartwatches are safer, easier to use, and already there?
Frankly as it stands currently these things seem to be more effective at getting press attention than actually solving anything.

@Ali#56098 Agree! Now it's time to convince Apple that bunq is the ideal launching partner to launch Apple Pay in the Netherlands;)!

@Hemmik#56105 ah, you could always "verhuizen" (move) to Spain ;-) , I've just settled her on the coast of Mediterranean, and not only the weather is nicer, Apple Pay with bunq is available here. I do miss the rookworst, boerenkool and hagelslag sometimes but I manage ;_)

@Laki#55814 If this all feels so 90’s and you think nobody wants to walk around with this, though everyone is glued to their mobiles, what would you suggest? A chip implanted underneath your skin?
Personally I’m very much satisfied with the Apple pay environment and for 99% of my payments use the watch. Easy and safe as you have to reconfirm you are the wearer. Seldom use the bunqcards and leave them at home more often.

@MarJamJars#56140 Yes I would like a chip implanted under my skin.

Meer dan 70% van de testers bij AR gaf aan de voorkeur te hebben om te betalen met een ring of horloge dus dat er mensen zijn het niet willen zegt niet dat er anderen zijn die het wel willen. Jaren 90 gevoel of niet. Apple Pay works like a charm. Dus laat maar komen...

@MarJamJars#56140 I really prefer to use the smartphone to pay instead of a watch or any wearable. It just feels so perfect for me and I am in the control of the payment (touchID/faceID), I love the 100% control. (Watch could be hold to a terminal to pay without touchID, I think it’s a disadvantage)
JakobProdigy
@Laki#56332 You still need to unlock the watch and tap the side button twice. So no one is gonna just hold a terminal at your arm and have you pay for sonething, nor could someone pay for anything with a stolen watch.
After having Apple Pay on my phone and watch for some time, I personally prefer the watch. It‘s just more convenient not having to fiddle with Touch ID but being able to pay instantly. Phone works fine, too, though. So if somebody prefers that, that‘s also fine.
Guys, over 70% of mobile phones in Europe is not iPhone. I don't have an iPhone and I don't want one. iPhone is heavily overpriced and overrated. And don't say iPhone is so secure, because that's a myth. Just Google on the words iOS, security and myth and you'll see what I mean. I (and I think a lot of Android users) also want an Android (and Wear OS) solution.

@Thomas-Green-Shark#56786 I've been paying with my Android phone quite some time already. What you can't use is any of the other wearables solutions because it only works with your phone.
The pay ring is rated very high by it's users and it is as safe as a banking card with wireless payment enabled. Big security advantage of the pay ring over the wireless banking card is that it is a lot harder to steal by pickpockets. You don't need to carry your wallet around, just leave it at home (where it is safe). Would be ideal for me.
