  • Send Euro's outside EU via Transferwise

Like dollars, Euro's are also very popular outside the EU. That's why many banks in smaller countries also offer bank accounts in Euro currencies. For example Ukraine.
Transferwise happily gives us the option to make this kind of transaction in euro's. Unfortunately the bunq interface doesn't allow to select Euro currency for outside EU transactions. Therefor i suggest to update the currency list with a Euro (outside EU) option which is then routed through transferwise.

      @Yannick#75246 Is het niet goedkoper om het gewoon via bunq te doen?

      Ik weet dat inkomende SWIFT-betalingen bij bunq 5 euro kosten, maar uitgaande toch niet?!

        Het kan nog niet via bunq, dat is juist m'n punt

          @Yannick#75259 oh, bizar 😅

            Ja gek. Wel Peso's maar geen Euro's.

              @Yannick#75261 Je kan met bunq ook geen peso's sturen. Alleen Euro binnen SEPA. De rest is allemaal via TransferWise.

              Of bedoel je dat de mogelijkheden van TransferWise in de bunq app achterlopen met de mogelijkheden die TransferWise zelf aanbiedt? Dat is volgens mij altijd al zo geweest. Ik meen dat je via TransferWise in de bunq app ook niet alle valuta kan sturen die TransferWise zelf wel aanbiedt.

                Yep I also noticed that while for example if you select USD you can select many different countries that for Euros it is just assumed that you want to make a SEPA transfer. But with Transferwise it is possible to send Euros to other countries, too.

                  Transfserwise makes its money via currency conversion to adjust this would make the venture with Transferwise unprofitable I guess. Nothing is free in life.

                    @Meks#75299 If you want to send euro with TransferWise itself you can still pay TransferWise with euro.

                    So if TransferWise can do this themselves (and make money) it would work the same when it's started from inside the bunq app.

                    I think the main problem is that the bunq app uses the euro sign to detect if you want to start a transfer with bunq or with TransferWise, so they have to re-think this to allow a euro TransferWise payment.

                      @Meks#75299 Transferwise already supports this.

                        Lijkt erop dat bunq deze feature (stilletjes) heeft toegevoegd! 🥳
