During a recent issue with incorrect card charges, I got stuck in a loop with the AI support. Although different names were shown, the assistant itself confirmed it was AI — repeating my questions back to me, or sometimes not responding at all.
The AI gave me incorrect information about my card entitlements, later admitted the mistake, but still didn’t solve the issue. It kept looping instead of taking responsibility or escalating to someone who could help.
The only way a bunq Guide could be reached was by emailing support@bunq.com. There was no way to get through to a real support agent via the app. Even when the AI said it would escalate the issue to a colleague, it replied again itself — the conversation was never actually taken over by a Guide.
A simple “Escalate to a Guide” button would’ve saved a lot of time and frustration. When the AI clearly reaches its limits, users should be able to speak to a real person who takes over the chat entirely.
