Using Virtual Credit Card for online purchases
Although using your Virtual Credit Card for online transactions doesn't guarantee protection against data theft if the website is fraudulent, it does give you the flexibility to block your card instantly when you need to. This is because you won't need to replace a physical card and wait for a new one to be delivered.
Additionally, to protect your card(s), you can enable the Localized card protection feature. When enabled, your cards will only work within a 100km radius of your phoneâs location. Learn more about it here.
Multiple failed payments
Mastercard has incorporated a security feature into its cards to detect fraudulent transactions. If your card is used for more than three unsuccessful payment attempts, Mastercard will permanently block it for your protection.
Two Factor Authentication
In case you initiate a transaction exceeding âŹ1,000, you'll be prompted to authenticate the payment. This can be done by entering your Security Code or using Biometrics, provided you've set it up.
For transactions under âŹ1,000, there's a preset limit of âŹ250. Once this limit is reached, two-factor authentication is required to continue with the payment. You have the option to change this threshold by following these steps:
- Go to Profile
- Tap on Settings
- Tap on Security
- đĄAuto Logout
