The abundant bunq options shown in the screen, are sometimes too much.
How can I hide CO2 footprints ?

Great question Kees, I bought 3 cups of coffee in a coffe shop "6,4 kg CO2" was displayed on my BUNQ app, then I bought 3 kg nuts on the market, which BUNQ converted to "4,2 kg CO2", who defines the weight of CO2? I am as well not interested in this.

      @New-Red-Swan-4094447481#281096 Unfortunately, that's not possible.

        Hello everyone πŸ‘‹

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We understand that the variety of options on the screen can sometimes feel overwhelming. While we currently don't have an option to hide the CO2 footprints, we'll pass on your suggestion to our product team for consideration 🌱

It's worth noting that as an environmentally-friendly bank, we believe in empowering our users with knowledge about their environmental impact. We hope this feature provides a unique insight into how everyday actions can affect our planet 🌍

Thank you for being a part of our journey 😊

@Alexia-Hummingbird#281159 That's great and all, but I'm on th Easy Money plan so the entire Green page is useless to me πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈ

Would be great if that page only showed if someone has the Easy Green plan, in my opinion.

Hello Thijs πŸ‘‹ Thanks for your feedback πŸ™ Even on Easy Money, however, you can make use of the Green tab! You can plant trees by simply reviewing places. Here's more information 🌳

@Alexia-Hummingbird#281163 True, but since almost none of my friends use bunq, there's no use reviewing places (so the Activities page is useless as well)... And personally I don't like reviewing places (everything and everyone is asking for a review these days), so that's also not an option for me πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈ

If it was possible, I would hide both the Activities and Green pages to keep the app clean and tidy!

It is clear that even though they are a privately owned bank, Bunq also is bending for tyranny. Forced carbon footprint perceptional indoctrination isn't allowed to be hidden... Bank of the free is a joke.

                  Hey there, @Caspar-Red-Frog#282205 πŸ‘‹
We appreciate your feedback and understand your concerns. At bunq, our commitment is to empower individuals and businesses to take control of their finances, make sustainable choices, and have the freedom to manage their money as they see fit.

Regarding our stance on sustainability, we believe in providing tools and information that help our users make environmentally conscious decisions. However, we also respect your right to choose how you interact with these features, so we'll make sure to announce it if and when we implement an option to adjust them to align with your preferences πŸ™ŒπŸŒˆ

@sotirios-Black-Moose#282209 Oh and you as a bank own the science of what is sustainable? If it is sustainable to kill all life on this planet, than you are right! Because to my knowledge, CO2 is the gas of life. It feeds all plants and trees on this planet. And they are feeding us oxygen. Without it we will all be death. It doesn't take a lot of time to actually figure that out yourself. Bunq is just repeating what all these big companies are pushed to repeat. It's all propaganda. Keep repeating the same thing until people accept it as the truth. Not that we are not destroying the planet, that we are not abusing and poisoning it, but a raise of CO2 is one of our least concerns right now. Just think of this example: Windmills are considered sustainable right? Even if they kill thousands of whales in the oceans? Even if they kill thousands of birds in the air? Where do these windmills end up once they are done? How are they constructed and how are they deconstructed? With sustainable ships? Do they melt this iron with sustainable energie? What lubricates these huge rotors to keep them smooth? That is really what you with your sustainable bank represent. Abuse of our planet and its wildlife and a huge lie! Don't put that stuff onto us, the people. We never asked for this nonsense. Maybe you as a bank should focus on what you are doing, banking, instead of pushing all this political propaganda.

Wondering what all these CO2 and tree features that actually cost in processing and engineering time (and CO2). Also wondering how many people would disable it, would be a nice A/B test - - and thereby reducing loads of CO2.

Love Bunq, not because it is green, but because it is full of really useful features, like multiple accounts, 1 card with 2 connected accounts. Stuff like that. The strong push on CO2 kgs and trees does not really work for me, sorry.

Hopefully Bunq will add some nice toggles to disable the activities & green tabs and remove the (often) incorrect footprint.

                          Hello Kees πŸ‘‹

Thank you for your feedback πŸ™

As we all know every computation, like the co2 footprint computation, requires energy and therefore has it's own co2 footprint.

If Bunq is concerned about our planet it should strip all unnecessary functionality like the co2 footprint per transaction, the daily raffle etc. etc. Everything that is not necessary for banking purposes.

This would also free up, or make redundant, several developers, further minimizing costs and Bunq's own co2 footprint.

I definitely want to have a toggle to hide this as well, I never check that tab therefore I find it really useless.

@thijsoost#281099 why not? It is just a technical thing to change. So if you say β€˜it is not possible’ you actually say I am
                                not willing to do this.

@Arturo-Bear-Eagle#289498 I just said it's not possible at the moment, which is true. I'm not sure if bunq is willing to make it possible to hide the CO2 footprint; I don't work for bunq. I'm just a user like you

                                    4 months later

Haven't bought a single fysical product been using bunq for 2 weeks? I just linked it to paypal and bought some digital advertising, Yet My co2 footprint is already 12KG? From what? Linking it to my paypal account? Bunq doesn't even know what the money is used for its a stupid function to appeal to the marketing trend of "sustainability" and "awareness"

I have yet to pay for anything that's actually "bad" for the environment, just hide the feature those who want to see it can find it. For me it only works counterproductive.

I'll hop to a bank that's actually just good at bank stuff and only bank stuff in a beat when this co2 crap is a returning thing, you don't know how I spend the money, you don't know my co2 footprint who knows I might be planting the amazon in my backyard but based on a few purchases you want to label my "footprint"
