@Georgiy#269994 Hi! Contactless payments up to €50 don't require a PIN code. This can't be changed. If you insert your card into a terminal, the PIN code is necessary.
@thijsoost#269996 Sad, thanks anyways.
@thijsoost#269996 In his case, having the option to only deactivate/freeze the contactless payment feature of a card would be pretty handy. At DKB we were able to enable/disable payments in stores, online payments, contactless payments, and ATM use all independent of each other.
@New-Lilac-Sloth-1702461962#270004 I agree it would be nice to have this option!
@New-Lilac-Sloth-1702461962#270004 Just chiming in here to say that this used to be a feature. At bunq in early stages we had very fine-grained control over every card, but ultimately this proved to be too complex for the average user and apparently led to many unintentionally failing payments. (Source 1 & Source 2) Of course, as more of a power user, I still want this functionality back in some form.
Here's an old screenshot:
@Jakob-Y#270017 Interesting!
@Davoxx87#270023 The limit is €50 per payment and €100/day total, after that you'll have to enter your PIN.
@thijsoost#270024 Naja das sind nicht gerade 100€ 😁
Die verweigerte Zahlung war dann nicht per Kontaktlos möglich.
Wie kann man denn nochmal hier Screenshots teilen 🙄🙃
@Davoxx87#270026 Longpress on the text input field to insert images.
According to https://together.bunq.com/d/27058, the limit for a single contactless payment is 50 Euros in many European countries. And https://together.bunq.com/d/49784 tell us that the limit for cumulative contactless payments is 100 Euros before a PIN is required.
There are some other Together articles that reference a 25 (single)/50 (cumulative) limit https://together.bunq.com/d/6635 in one section, but state that the cumulative limit is actually at 150 Euros or 5 contactless payments in total regardless of height in another section. Maybe bunq needs to do some house-keeping in the help section.
However, in any case these are just the limits that are set by bunq. If a payment terminal sets its own lower limits (for example because it still enforces the previous lower limits), then you could still be out of luck. It could therefore be a good idea to also set up Apple Pay / Google Pay on your phone, so that you can always pay contactless like for example in the public toilet example provided above.
@Jakob-Y#270028 Okay. Dann handelt es sich um die 5 hintereinander geleisteten Zahlungen. Aber gut zu wissen 👍
@Jakob-Y#270017 Wow, I would definitely love to see a comeback of those settings!😍 But they need to be hidden by some kind of an "expert mode" for sure. 😅
