  • Categorise all my spending automatically / manually

Hi,

As a longtime bunq-er i'd like to propose an idea: Why can't i tag my transfers / transactions manually (or better yet: automatically) and thus categorise my activity? That way i could see what i'm spending my money on!

A few features i can come up with as part of the catrogisation:

- I can imagine it happening automatically and allowing for manual adjustment.

- having reports / graphs visible over time (last week, month, 6 months, year etc)

- across all / one of my accountnumbers

- separating by category / vendor (party)

- even going as far as suggestions to cut spending / save up / set targets / budgets et al

Again, this could start out by just (auto)labeling my transactions and giving me insights into them, but "Louis, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship" :)

    Hey Robin!

Thank you for your suggestions! It is now on the wishlist 😊

    Enjoy your day!

      Hey Dirk,

all wishes that are feasible and worth consideration go to the wishlist 👍

Will it be available this year? It will be desecive for me to leave my original bank.

          Hey Eelco!

We do not have a ETA for the wishlist, but it means that we are looking into it!

Thanks your quick reaction. Is there any free third app solution for tracking my spending for non-business usage?

Definetly a major wish here for this feature. Just assign a category would be a great starter.

The SNS app contains nice examples on how to’s. Hope you are able to put this on a higher prio.

I would love this feature too. Especially if you categorize the payments made. So that I can see how much I spend for restaurants every month ;)

                  Hi bunq,

I would really love this future too. It’s the one last thing I miss on bunq which holds me back from switching banks completely.

If traditional banks can do this, it should not be too hard for bunq, right?

The app Bittiq already has an integration with bung and can show a nice classifications of your spendings.

It's probably cool but for some reason not available in Germany

Didn’t realize this had been suggested, so I suggested it here as well: https://together.bunq.com/topic/grouping-by-merchantcategory_2

Revolut does this very well, and it’s a must-have feature!

Agree on this want to/like to have feature. In addition to other mentioned references, the SNS bank app contains a pretty nice mobile UI for spending categorizing, which you might like to checkout.

I tried Bittiq, but it performs slow and the UI could use some improvements on the core parts, so I rather see this implemented in Bunq. 😊

                            Hi J!

For a better understanding of your need; what would you like to do with the categorised information? Bittiq seems to analyse your transactions and to propose cheaper alternatives for your subscriptions.

                              Hi J,

Could you elaborate a bit on the issues you experienced with Bittiq? And which improvements you would like to see? Either here or at support@bittiq.com. We are continuously improving the app and we would love to hear your thoughts.

It would be great, if you could group payments by categories like shopping, groceries and so on.... . And then it would be great to have a pie chart where you see your total monthly spending and how much was of this category, this should also be possible for incoming payments.

                                  Hi Robin,

As Marco suggested, Bittiq indeed can do what you are asking for:

                                  - I can imagine it happening automatically and allowing for manual adjustment. - Manual adjustment will be probably be possible early 2018.

                                  - having reports / graphs visible over time (last week, month, 6 months, year etc) - Currently you can see your last week, the current calendar month and the last year.

                                  - across all / one of my accountnumbers - This week we plan to release the feature allowing users to connect multiple accounts

                                  - separating by category / vendor (party) - Transactions are put in categories (e.g. Living, Travel) and subcategories (e.g. Car, Public Transport)

                                  - even going as far as suggestions to cut spending / save up / set targets / budgets et al - Your subscriptions (e.g. magazines, fitness club) are listed and you can cancel them through the app to save money. Within the coming weeks you will also be able to switch services such as energy or health care.

If you want to try it, you can find it in the app stores

It’s only available on the Dutch App Store, though.

                                      Hi Hidde,

As a software UI/UX designer I’m pretty busy with prototyping several apps. If you’re interested in me helping you out, then feel free to contact me at karel@freecolours.nl.
