Approve/Accept payment with Apple Watch

I already like the way bunq handles 3D Secure, but It would be really nice to be able to accept payment requests triggered by 3D Secure with the Apple Watch. Just by tapping on the notification on the Apple Watch and tapping an “Accept/Approve” button

Hi 👋 there,
I had not been using the accept from my watch lately but I remember in the past I had issues and by deleting the App on the Watch by de flagging it in the Watch App on the iPhone and then install it fresh directly from the App Store on the watch it worked fine.
If you want to try I can send you a payment request of 1 euro (but you need to share your IBAN) and then I send it back to you.

Jakob How do you do that? I have the Apple Watch app installed, yes. Just tried again. Tapping on the Apple Watch bunq notification does not show an approve button and entering the bunq app on the watch doesn’t show an approve section/button neither. Am I not seeing something?

Sydney I was always seeing Approve/Reject buttons inside the push notification on the Watch, and have successfully been able to use them to accept 3DS payments.

Will do a test later to confirm/deny if this is still the case. Maybe there‘s a regression.

Jakob I’ve seen the together post from bunq about that - in theory it should work, it seems (https://together.bunq.com/d/25263-how-to-use-the-bunq-watch-app). I think I should ask the support.

GG It’s kind of strange. I asked support about it, and they said it’s not implemented because of security concerns. But they have that in their Apple Watch info posts and you are the second one to claim that it works or did work.

Is there a difference between IBAN payment requests and 3DS payments?

Can I share you my IBAN in any other way than posting it here?

Sydney I think 3DS are for CC payments… so it might be different.
I used the approve from notification some times ago and not lately so could be that this function is currently not available any more.
If you re installed the App on the watch and it is logged in, just wait then for the next payment request.
