Alex bunq has stated earlier that they want to introduce more local IBANs for more European countries in the future. If and when exactly that would happen for a specific country like Portugal is however something we users cannot really predict. Surely there's a lot of red tape involved.
Some fun stuff: In the Update 18 video (you can rewatch it on this page) there's a short skit about the introduction of Spanish IBANs. An employee uses a hammer to destroy the glass front of a picture frame that holds a bunq card and some paper with the headline "Spanish IBANs" -- however in the same room there are also many other picture frames for other countries. It's at minute 18:27, maybe this gives you some hope ;-)
