  • ZeroFX with extra 0.5% extra fee?

So again another price raise, very disappointed.

@Marco#228001 I hope this is only for foreign currency accounts; but this definitely needs clarification.

@Gerhard-Yellow-Frog#228039 just got the confirmation that it is a price / fee increase. So the name ZeroFX is not applicable after 1 November :-(

The next price increase. The last one has been announced on 31.05.2021 and now the next one? Why, just why? Two price increases within 3 months, congratulations, a new record! The 0,0 % FX Fee was a major advantage of bunq, it was worth to pay almost 9 € per month for me. First the ATM Withdrawal reduction (4 instead of 10), the price increase and now one of the last USPs is gone.
And again, the Easy Bank Account is much more expensive.
That's enough for me! I'm going to terminate my bunq account soon and replace it with my already existing account at a german branch bank. Even they are cheaper and do not increase price every 2 months. For forgein currency i will use my real Credit Card of a well known Luxembourg bank which still has 0 % FX. It cost me less then bunq do (2,70 € a month instead of 8,99 € as easy Money Member or 6 € as Pack Member)
And you know what bother me most? That the people, who have payed upfront can't get the money back (and the new network fees apply for them too). I payed upfront as there was no FX Fee (the ATM thing and the price increase was acceptable to me)

At first I was really happy to see the changes with Update 18 - although I won’t use them. But essentially removing zeroFX with this network fee, not mentioning it at all in the update and still listing it on your website for new customers is a no go. Apart from that I really think zeroFX should stay, as it was a reason for many people to choose bunq and removing it essentials is another price hike.

It would be great to see an explanation from Bunq, as this is a price raise while imo it would be better to at least allow $500 a month with actual ZeroFX and after charge the 0.5%. As the monthly plans already got a higher fee this is just another hit on many customers who will serious consider other fintechs who do offer ZeroFX

@YY#228192 Guess they decided to do it quiet this time, as there isn't really any justification for this price increase..

@johannes#228195 I am afraid so and that is very unfortunate because the monthly fee just got raised a short while ago. Thats why at least I do hope a explanation. Some other fintechs only charge in the weekends for instance and others charge nothing if you are a paid customer.

For Bunq this might work out bad as many potential customers will find other fintechs or current customers leave the bank as it becomes to expensive for the benefits

I asked bunq. They explained networking fee only applies if you decide to pay in local currency. Right now we pay in Euro even if we use cards in the US btw.. the dollar amount is auto converted into euros . In the future we can decide to keep it in USD or any other currency. Then 0.5 % network fee applies. If we continue using it with Euro as of now there is no 0.5 %.

@Christoph-Green-Frog#228260 That makes no sense because if you pay USD from a USD account there would be no “MasterCard exchange rate”, which is listed in the pricing document.

@Christoph-Green-Frog#228260 But it would be awesome, if true. Don’t get me wrong :)

@Gerhard-Yellow-Frog#228264 That’s correct but keeping USD amounts in bunq requires efforts for bunq so they charge with 0.5 % for that. What’s the use case for foreign holdings and local payments. You stay longer abroad or live there, currency fluctuations
