  • Secondary PIN not working in France

Is it normal that secondary pin on a maestro card does not work in Paris France? I’ve been here all week and my secondary pin does not work at any of the terminals. It says “incorrect pin”. My main pin works fine.

Is this normal or do I need to check the configuration of my account and pin?

    My best guestimate would be that the french terminals you are using verify the PIN with the online chip instead of checking it with our systems. The online chip sadly only supports one pin.

    If you can take a picture of the terminal perhaps other bunq users can verify it!

        Yeah, had the same in a trip to Marseille. The terminals there would simply decline the secondary PIN :/ no workarounds AFAIK. Seems like their terminals are offline or something.

          I sadly didn’t take a picture of the terminals but I will give it a try another time. Also it happened at least five different merchants throughout the greater Paris region

            I live in France. Indeed secondary pin is not working here. 👎
