  • Patreon: All bunq cards declined without any feedback

Hi,

I have been trying for some time to add my bunq MasterCards to my Patreon payment options to support some creators. But all bunq cards were declined.
I found out, that they reject prepaid cards and even though bunq debit cards are not prepaid cards, I tried again with the proper credit/travel card. To no avail.

Does anyone else have this problem? Or does this work for other accounts?
The bunq support couldn't even see any request made to verify the card details from Patreon. Nor did the Patreoon website or support provide any information to why this is not working.

    @SimJoSt#203882 I can use my cards from bunq without any problem at Patreon.

      Patreon works for me, but I've had problems in the past, when they thought bunq cards were Austrian, and rejected me for living in The Netherlands.

        Are living in the Netherlands? My address is a German one, so they might have a problem with that.
        Though I think my German cards from another bank were declined as well.

          My German bunq cards work fine on Patreon fwiw. Both Debit and Credit.

            Hi @Jakob-Y#203913, what do you mean by "German bunq cards"? Or are you just saying you live in Germany and are using bunq cards? :)

              @SimJoSt#203959 bunq cards have different BINs depending on where you were located when you ordered them. I live (and have lived at time of card order) in Germany. That's why I have German bunq cards. But I just checked and see that I'm using them through Apple Pay to pay for my Patreon subscriptions. That could mean different BIN ranges exposed to Patreon altogether and/or different card acceptance policies in place. If you have the option, maybe you can try to do the same.

                @Jakob-Y#203963 I have contacted the Parteon support about this in a new ticket and are hoping they will respond soon.
                I'll also checkout the BINs of my cards.

                How did you manage to pay via Apple Pay? The only option I get a card or PayPal on the webpage.

                  @SimJoSt#204279 Not sure if Google Pay is offered, but when checking out through Safari, there‘s the option to pay with Apple Pay (as long as it‘s set up, I presume). Unfortunately that of course requires a compatible Apple device.
