Green Card subscription end date

Tim Anthony Alexander I would guess that at that point, you get a free replacement card that is valid for another 6 years, the same as happens with other non-Green card types with 4 year validity. Don't forget that you are paying €99 every year for the Green Card subscription, so it seems obvious that the replacement physical card after its 6 year validity should be included in that subscription price. But we're getting into multiples of bunq's current lifetime as a company at this point, and who knows how much of a thing physical cards will still be in 2025 or 2031...

Good question! I was looking for that date too... especially since it will be more then a year this first period.

Also would be cool to get a push notification a week before that date.. so then I can make sure I have enough balance or time to unsubscribe.

John Do Yeah exactly! I received my card yesterday, so 14 months from now (a year + the extra 2 months due to delivery delay) would be april 2021. So I will be charged in april 2021? Will it be exactly 14 months, so april 20th 2021? Or wil it be the end/beginning of april? These are all little insecurities that I would love to get more details about 😊

I’m really enjoying my green card and have no intention of cancelling it, but now you’ve mentioned it I cannot find anything about the end date or even on how to cancel the green card.

I think bunq should make the green card a bit clearer. It’s now both a subscription on its own as well as something you can add on to a premium subscription, which is then never shown anywhere.

Either, bunq should simplify the subscription tiers or make the whole subscription model more modular (which it kinda is now), but with a clearer way to creating and modifying your ‘modular package’.

René Helemaal mee eens. Ik wil hem ook niet cancellen hoor, maar wil wel graag weten wanneer het verlengd wordt, zodat ik daar met budgetteren rekening mee kan houden 😉

Verder gebruik ik de kaart ook op heel veel plekken en vooral online. Maar hopelijk gaat Nederland haar acceptatie voor mastercard nog verder uitbreiden. Zou mooi zijn.

We're listening to your questions, and it seems that some of you would like a little more clarification on your billing date. As a general rule, your 12-month Green Card membership starts from the day your card is shipped.

For users that ordered their card between November 2019 and February 2020, your next yearly billing date will be in March 2021. So just to clarify, your billing period won't start until the month your beautiful new metal card lands in your wallet!

bunq Uhm... Why March? As I said in my post, I would expect it to be somewhere in April. You know, because of the extra 2 months. Or are you indeed telling me that we don’t get these extra months? Because that would be really weird. Could you be more clear on this? Simple question: do we get the 2 extra months as promised? Looking forward to your answer!

bunq This is one answer to one question, leaving many other questions unanswered. I understand bunq has to work on optimizing the green card, but it would have been nice if the subscription that this card comes with would be more clear and easy to check, renew or cancel.

bunq Instead of answering this question on Together (not all Green Card customers will read this post, and especially this one comment from bunq) and even not mentioning the +2 free months, I'd more like to see bunq to implement the end date somewhere in the app, for transparency.
It's not really transparent if you have to "guess" your end date based on a Together comment or remembering when exactly the card got shipped to you (especially as a lot of people did not receive any DHL email you could look back to in the future).
And don't forget: We can't cancel the card for the next end date upfront, if I would want to cancel my card for the next year, I'd need to disable it immediately and wouldn't be able to use my full year.
So the only way to cancel my card for the next year but still use it, is by cancelling it as close to the end date as possible, and if I miss it ("March 2021" is not really an exact date) it would cost me €99 that I might didn't want to pay.

L What bunq is trying to say (I think) is that we don’t get two extra months. And I think bunq is also trying to say is “we are very sorry that there was a miscommunication on our part”.

But I agree, this answer is pretty vague. bunq shouldn’t beat around the bush, and just tell things like they are ;)

John Do I can’t imagine that this will be true, because I expect from bunq that they will keep their promise. So @bunq, don’t disappoint us please. If someone got an e-mail from bunq with the promise of 2 extra month free of charge (like me and many others), they will expect with justification that they really got the 2 extra free month.
