@DaveFlash#141244 I do have dollars saved. I also have gold and silver. I’m just wondering how bunq as a Bank would cope.

@johannes#141245 Dude I listen to all kinds of stuff. The collapse. No collapse. Collapse good. Collapse not good. And so on and so on...
I’m just wondering what happens to a bank like bunq in the invent of a collapse.
@BigBoss#141249 Lol
@Robert-Silver-Turtle-4265395482#141253 No one can tell you what will happen in this case. If bunq has to shut down you are covered up to 100,000 EUR by the NL central bank, but if the Euro collapse how much will this help you? Every EUR bank would only have money left that's worth nothing.
Als er iets haar waarde zal kwijtraken is het de Britse Pond. Over de waarde van de Euro zou ik me geen zorgen maken.
Hi 👋 @Robert-Silver-Turtle-4265395482#141240
If a currency collapses then it doesn't mean a bank will loose all funds.. It will only mean that all funds will devaluate.
Also, I don't think you have to be afraid about the value of the EURO, definitely not in the near future.
Thanks for the responses guys.
Not having a bank like bunq around due to an eventual euro collapse worries more than an actual collapse. That was the thinking behind my question.
In my opinion, a collapse is highly unlikely. But if it happens, you will have more problems than bunq not being around. For example, in the case of hyper inflation (could be called collapse?), your wages will be worth a lot less by the time you want to buy groceries with them, So what will you tell your boss? You want more? Where is he going to get it from? Same goes for bunq's employees. Will they keep working if their wages can't pay for their life anymore? Nobody will let this happen so the government will take all kinds of actions which will actually make everything very unpredictable. I guess if other currencies remain unaffected you could quickly buy those, but will they really stay unaffected when something as big as the euro looses stability? I wouldn't worry about it, even if it was likely, it's probably not something you can really prepare for.
@Freek#141287 All I’m doing now is buying silver and gold and and stocking up a bit on a few things that I think might be valuable. Cigarettes and whiskey 😂
@Robert-Silver-Turtle-4265395482#141311 I would seriously think about getting your sources of information in order again if such a "prepper-thing" seems reasonable based on what you hear...
If anything the stock-market might take a big hit in the next few years but that doesn't mean that the euro will as well - and it certainly doesn't validate such fatalistic views about some sort of apocalyps waiting to happen.
A collapse of the euro will not happen in the far future but the prepper companies earn good with the afraid from the people. „your afraid is their business model - create a afraid and sell a solution for that afraid“
If the euro would collapse, which is extremely unlikely, the issue would be Europe wide. Regardless of what premature measure you take, you still won’t be able to pay your shopping with dollars or in gold.
Of course it’s good to be prepared for certain events, for example by investing in some land or foreign currencies, but I wouldn’t get to paranoid about it.
@Hannes-H93#141335 LOL. You’re definitely reading too much into what I say.
First of all I think a small percentage of ones income going to precious metals probably isn’t a bad idea.
Secondly, I already smoke and drink whiskey. So buying a tiny bit extra serves me as well. But you just never know what the future holds.
Thirdly, do I really believe all the bad news coming out? Kinda. But kinda no. It’s not like shit has never happened. But anything can happen.
And the whiskey thing is becoming more of a hobby. Some people collect shoes. Or Star Wars. Or cars. Or whatever. Good whiskeys is becoming my thing.
@R#141361 No paranoia on my side. I don’t know why anyone would think I’m getting paranoid.
Nobody here knows me.
I never said I could buy with gold. Nor would I want to. Still having it isn’t a bad ideal.
@PP#141358 In wha my way do you think I’m afraid? What businesses am I supporting that I already don’t support. I smoke. I drink whiskey. I buy water. I have euros saved. I have dollars saved. I am an American and visit family in California. So having those dollars in advance may or may not be beneficial. But if I don’t save them now then I may never. 🤪
Somewhere on this thread I explained my main reason for starting this thread.
Not that I’m afraid of shit hitting the fan. But what happens to this bank that I e grown to love and respect. I want to be able to continue to do business with this bank for a long long time.
Fraktion an.
Aber von den 100.000€ Einlagesicherung, sollte es wirklich zu einem Kollaps kommen, kann man sich dann anschließend nichts mehr kaufen😂
@Robert-Silver-Turtle-4265395482#141311 Hervorragend Idee! Ich denke Whisky ist absolut wert stabil
@Flo1979#141375 BTW. Nur Single Malt selbstverständlich
